If you are not Irish, but have a grandparent born in Ireland, you are eligible to apply to have your birth entered onto Ireland's Foreign Birth Register and to be a citizen of Ireland. This will bring you the benefits of EU Citizenship.
You will need to include documents for Irish Citizenship with your application.
I will provide you with copies of the documents that fulfil the requirements for Irish Citizenship:
- For you: a full Birth Certificate (giving details of parents) and Marriage Certificate if your name is different
- For your parent: a full Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate, and Death Certificate if they are no longer alive
- For your grandparent: a full Irish Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate, and a Death Certificate if they are no longer alive
Manage your Irish Citizenship Application
I can streamline your application for Irish Citizenship further by also managing the application process for you in order to ensure that all stages are completed. This will minimise the chance that your application is rejected for administrative reasons.
Because holding Irish Citizenship will give you the right to an Irish Passport, for security reasons you will need to do some of the stages of this process yourself, for example signing documents and getting them witnessed. But I will tell you exactly what you need to do.
